Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!

To our family and friends! We are missing everyone. Right now I'm up past my bedtime trying not to get teary thinking that everyone is getting ready for that amazing turkey dinner. We go to bed as you are getting up. Time with family and friends. I spent the evening looking at blogs, facebook, and sending messages. We will spend our Sunday spending time with new friends at our English service. Then we will gather in thanks for a as traditional as possible turkey dinner. I'm going to attempt to make sweet potato casserole using Korean sweet potatoes. I will be sure to take pictures.
We spent our day going to the bank to send money home and then at school. While we were out we passed the stationary/misc. store we go to a lot. They had Christmas trees outside along with a life-size Santa and a dancing Santa. This was much to our surprise and my total excitement! I told Cameron we had to check it out on our way home - and we did. We bought a 3.5-4 foot artificial tree and a few decorations. I need to find or make some more. I will take pictures and send post them. Being able to buy a tree the day of Thanksgiving just reminded me of God's goodness even in the little things. Our tradition in the states was to put our tree up either on Thanksgiving or that weekend. I'm so thankful!
Right now I am also listening to wjye out of Buffalo because I know every year they play Christmas music. They even play carols by our favorite Christian artists http://www.wjye.com/ - the reason for This season is the birth of Jesus Christ our Savior! Don't forget! Being away makes me even more aware of how much we get caught up in the frills and forget what its all about. As you begin your gift shopping, baking, and decorating remember that nativity or that cross and why its there.

Love to all! Our day was a chilly (its been in the mid to low 50's during the day here) and sunny one. I hope everyone else's is the same! I'm loving it and dreaming of a white Christmas.

Finally Feeling Better!

I am finally feeling better. I was sick for 2 weeks and went to the doctor 2 times. After 2 shots and blood work - not my favorite. My doctor thinks I had bronchitis. I finished my anti-biotics yesterday. I am still coughing a little, but I do not feel draggy like I did for a week and a half.
I am going to put a little description of going to the doctor in so everyone knows how different life is when you live in another country:
They are very quick here. In case you are wondering they always say they are going to the hospital instead of saying they are going to the doctor. We had to get used to that right away. Our office has a waiting room - they pay some attention to aesthetics - the ones we have been in are very nice inside. You do the normal go in and let them know you are there - there is no sign in sheet. The desk is more of that like at a hotel - no window. Our doctor is on the 5th floor. The hard to get used to part is that they don't get a history - we are having to make sure we give the details that they really need to know - like our recent history and definitely Cameron's medicine - I had forgotten that the first time and said - yikes we need to make sure the medicine he prescribed is ok for interactions.
So - they call you in and first you go into see the doctor in his actual office. The only part that is remotely like an exam room is there is a small bed on one side with a curtain that can be pulled when necessary. Oh and he has the medical exam tools in his desk drawers. After the consultation he took us into a bigger room connecting to his office. This room has about 10 beds I think - all with curtains that can be pulled. Its carpeted and the whole front wall is windows so its nice and bright. The beds are a little shorter in height than American exam beds and they have the normal Korean heating (I think its pillow top like thing) - that is added. There are sheets and regular pillows and there are towels laid for your feet and head. All of the monitor systems and bigger equipment is in this room. Everything is passes from the doctor's computer to the nurses computer as far as I could tell. The doctor enters information into his computer during the consultation and then the patient goes into the other room and receives treatment.
They are quick about getting everything done. I had both my shots (different days) in a matter of minutes. I was also very glad I could lie down for my blood work - which I always get very nervous for, but it is never bad.
All in all going to the doctor was a very positive experience even though we do ride the city bus in to Gwangju and that takes an hour and fifteen minutes, but it stops right by our doctor.
Thank you to those of you who are praying! Its much appreciated. I am waiting for the mono test to come back - I asked him to test me just in case. I don't feel like I have it, but pray just in case.

Hey Everyone!

Now its my turn to fight sickness. Pray for me. I am fighting a cold or allergies. I really don't want to have this problem with school.
We are doing ok other than that. We had a great weekend relaxing and just doing stuff around our apartment. We felt we needed to rest. Our apartment-mate was gone for the weekend. Continue to pray for the housing situation. We really would like to get into our own place soon. I really want to be there before Christmas.
Our first packages are on their way. I can't wait. We had my parents pick up some things we are needing and wanting.
School has been good. Cameron was fortunate enough to keep his schedule, while mine changed a bit when the new teacher got here. I'm adjusting to teaching the really young kids - I think between 4 and 7. Its very challenging because they don't know much English. Right now I'm working 2-6 for my classes. I have tutoring 3 days a week at 7. I do miss being able to make lunch and eat together with Cameron. We are trying to adjust to that. Cameron is still working 3-9.
The weather has been going between cool and a tad warm. We are riding in the high 50s and low to mid 60s. I think a few days its gotten back in the low 70s. I've been enjoying wearing sweaters on the cool days. I have seen a few trees change. I've been watching the mountain, but there hasn't been much change. I think most of the trees on the mountain are evergreen.
Continue to pray for us. I have been much more emotional since the holidays are fast approaching. I am also missing our dog Melvin, but Frankie said he is still enjoying his time with is Jack Russel friend Jack.
Yay! Cameron just came with my Aloe tissues.
